SheCAN: Looking Forward – Zoe Whitley curating British Pavilion at 2019 Venice Biennale

For art lovers a date for the diary Dr. Zoé Whitley Tate’s Curator International Art, was appointed curator of the British Pavilion at the 2019 Venice Biennale this April.  Cathy Wilkes, the Glasgow-based artist “the conjurer of intimate, tender, almost spectral tableaux of mannequins, worn fabric, and peculiar bits of detritus”  will represent Great Britain at this major event on the international art calendar. Whitley was co-curator of the massive exhibition “Soul of a Nation: Art in the Age of Black Power” at the Tate Modern.

The Venice Biennale is the oldest and most prestigious exhibition of its kind internationally.  The Biennale has an attendance of over 500,000 visitors at the Art Exhibition.
