‘Sheer Chemistry is a movement. A celebration of women of all shades of brown, in all your glory’.If you’re a woman of colour, you’ve probably become accustomed to, perhaps even proud of your growing collection of black opaque tights.Founded by Tahlia Gray, Sheer Chemistry is an empowering hosiery brand, driven by a mission to create a more diverse perception of beauty. As a young professional living in New York, she became frustrated by her inability to find tights to match her skin tone during a blisteringly cold winter. Dissatisfied with the lack of options on the market, and tired of alternating between black opaque tights and beige coloured tones labelled ‘nude’, Sheer Chemistry was established to create tights for women of all shades of brown.
Kemi Telford was created by Yvonne Modupe Telford in 2017. Yvonne was born and raised in Kano, Nigeria and she arrived in England in 1996. Her journey into the fashion business started when she started blogging and people kept asking her, “Where did you get that outfit?” Like many Nigerians, her clothes were hand-tailored one-offs. Despite having no formal training in the fashion industry, Yvonne decided to create two skirts using bold wax prints that she grew up seeing women in Nigeria wear.

Couldn’t Wear Less
CWL founder was raised in London but born in Nigeria where African wax cotton prints, Ankara, are a prominent part of style and fashion. From day-to-day wear to occasional outfits for weddings, the vibrant colours are visible wherever you go.
In July 2016, she moved back to Lagos, Nigeria and fell in love with the energy and fun of African style and fashion and wanted to bring some of that back to London with her. She decided to make it her mission to make African Ankara prints available in everyday wear, not just as occasional outfits for Weddings and traditional events, thus Couldn’t Wear Less was born. Also, bringing African inspired style to the western market at affordable prices.

I wanted to make pieces that make women feel Good. Gorgeous. Confident. The pieces are made to last, and I hope that they will be a staple in your wardrobe. Designed in London & made in the UK & Europe using the softest, lightweight quality fabric, with UV protection which is kind to your skinEase, sensuality, versatility, modernity. Tracey James Design
I have been sewing for over forty years and have a passion for creating stylish pieces that become treasured favourites. Being creative is in my core. Fabric is like art to me. Some people like art galleries but my happy place is a fabric shop. I am inspired by beautiful fabrics and great designs, a perfect marriage with textures, colours and patterns all playing a part. I have always been interested in fashion and interiors. I started Tracey James Design to share some of my creations with you.
I started making bags but always knew I would expand the range to other items. Each item is handmade by me in my little shed in North London. I buy fabric in limited quantities which means there are limited stocks, but you will benefit from the exclusivity.

“I wanted a place where I can continue to elevate my own language of design and create pieces where whoever wears my clothes can feel their best self, defining their own world and their own uniform. Our Lovely Goods
Home should be a place where you can be completely at ease. Somewhere to shut the door on the stresses and pressures of the outside world, where it’s ok to wear pyjamas all day, eat cereal at the kitchen counter and call it dinner, and dance to your favourite track, loudly, on repeat.
Our Lovely Goods is an extension of us and our home. The common thread running through everything we do is our Nigerian heritage. We both come from a culture rooted in gathering family, sharing food, good music, and a laid-back approach to life. Nigeria is a big source of inspiration for us, the sensory overload of colours, textures, and the unforgettable people.
We believe the spaces we inhabit affect how we feel and how we live. An open and generous home helps connect us to one another. Whether it’s a family house, a flat, or a room to call your own. Making a home shouldn’t feel complicated, pressured, or expensive. It’s about belonging, sharing, welcoming, and laughing, often. That’s the wonderful thing about home, and life, it’s never perfect. A chipped handmade mug for your daily coffee, a wrinkled linen napkin, or a red wine stain on a worn wooden table, it’s the everyday details that bring a home to life.
So, make yourself at home, with Our Lovely Goods.
Scent is what makes Soapsmith different. Fragrances are so powerful. They remind us of places, people, of times and of milestones in our lives. Chosen by Nature
During my childhood in the Gambia, I always loved the fresh food and drink my aunt would make us. She’d use a variety of local fruits (like baobab) and make them really simply, without any extracts, colourings, or artificial flavourings.
Inspired to share this experience with others, I decided to create my own range of exotic, organic drinks, fresh fruit sorbets and baobab jams using the same simple methods my aunt used. This range is called Chosan, a word which means ‘cultural heritage’ in the Wolof language we speak in The Gambia. By using fruits and plants indigenous to Africa, I like to think that Chosan’s delicious hibiscus and baobab products pay homage to this rich heritage.
Growing up surrounded with bold colours, powerful prints and different cultures, our creative director; Joy Kamau gained inspiration for her final school project from her Hometown Nairobi. After creating an outfit that was highly praised, she then began collecting printed fabric, bought a sewing machine and began creating custom pieces for friends and family. It was not long before the orders began to grow, and Tribal Twist was formed.
Born in Västerås Sweden, Maya Njie (pronounced ‘Maia N-Jai’) moved to London in her late teens. Her background lies in surface design and photography, which she studied at the University of the Arts London. To further communicate her work, she began experimenting with the sense of smell as an added medium. Inspired by an old family photo album from the decades before her birth, Maya set out to capture, by way of scent, these moments in time, these tropes of familial life, set within their frames. ‘What did it smell like?’ The small Swedish summer house surrounded by mercurial forests, the visits to her grandparents sparsely furnished flat on Sunday afternoons, Uncle Lars’ and Aunt Erene’s wedding… she sought to bottle the spirit connected to the classic 1970’s Scandinavian idyll, combined with the soul of her esoteric Gambian heritage.

Brown Skin Essentials
WHEN DESPAIR BREEDS HOPE
I created the Brown Skin Essentials line a few years ago to solve a major issue I was facing as a woman of colour. After hunting for a reasonably priced pair of skin tone tights in the United Kingdom, I found there were no real options despite living in a diverse country. I knew I couldn’t be alone, and so my business idea came to fruition.
Before setting out to launch the brand, I wanted to make sure that I was creating high quality offerings that were also gender inclusive.
A nude bra and skin tone hosiery are the basics of every woman’s wardrobe, at least in theory. For many women of colour, finding suitable skin-tone hosiery and lingerie has not been an option. Frustrated by the lack of skin-tone choices to go with her ever-expanding wardrobe, Nubian Skin founder, Ade Hassan, decided it was time for ‘a different kind of nude’.
Nubian Skin launched with a carefully edited collection of lingerie and hosiery to provide the essential underwear needs of women of colour. Headquartered in London, Nubian Skin delivers worldwide and looks forward to growing the company’s offering and expanding its reach.

Founded by health and beauty expert Karen Cummings-Palmer who believes that good skincare – like good food should nourish, hydrate protect and illuminate.
Specialising in Age-Management and Beauty from the inside out Karen had worked with great supplements and facial skincare treatments but when it came to the body, she couldn’t find anything that ticked all of her boxes.
The first product in the collection was born from Karen’s need to treat her dry eczema prone skin whilst managing the signs of ageing – it had to be deeply hydrating but not greasy, largely organic and luxurious. She wanted something that was more than a cream but an ultra nourishing anti-oxidant rich body balm that would quite literally feed the skin.
