Significant earlier works for sale for the first time include a rare, intricately rendered painting from the Rossinante series by Huguette Caland – direct from the artist’s estate; and a monumental and historically important painting from 1985 by Denzil Forrester entitled Stryder, depicting a dance club in full motion. Exhibited in the artist’s solo show at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Miami last year, it precedes Forrester’s upcoming New York exhibition at Stephen Friedman Gallery and Andrew Kreps in November 2024. Forrester’s first exhibition in New York was curated by Matthew Higgs and Peter Doig and took place at White Columns in 2016.
