BCA is in partnership with the arts and culture platform CIRCA (the Cultural Institute of Radical Contemporary Arts) to celebrate the arrival of the Windrush Generation in the UK.
CIRCA is currently screening the first digital artwork by Sir Frank Bowling OBE RA, on their global platform of digital screens including Piccadilly Lights, London and in Berlin, Milan, Seoul and Los Angeles. Arrival celebrates 70 years since the artist arrived in the UK and the 75th anniversary of Windrush. Throughout the exhibition, we are collaborating with CIRCA, on a public call-out.
BCA are inviting audiences connected to the Windrush Generation to share their stories of arrival on the CIRCA website, a curated selection of which will be presented on Piccadilly Lights at 8pm on Windrush Day, 22 June. It’s an opportunity to tell new stories, share fresh perspectives and capture a wider scope of visual images that represent those who arrived between 1958-1972.
