2023 Oscar nominees include number of Black filmmakers, actors, and songwriters who have earned nods. Oscar®-winning actor-producer Riz Ahmed and actor Allison Williams announced the 95th Oscars® nominations live from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater via a global live stream.
The nominees were revealed for the 95th Academy Awards late January, which will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel on Sunday, March 12 at Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, per People. Winners of all 23 categories will be highlighted during the main award show, airing on ABC.
2022 was an eventful 94th Academy Awards where Will Smith slapped Chris Rock after he made a joke about Jada’s hair. Following the incident Smith was banned from the Academy for 10 years following.
