Panamanian-American Kalena Bovell has her international conducting debut, as well as Chineke! principal trumpet Aaron Akugbo in his first performance as featured soloist.
The concert is also be the UK premiere of Adolphus Hailstork‘s symphonic work Epitaph for a Man Who Dreamed, an elegiac tribute to Dr Martin Luther King Jr.
