Kandace Springs will bring her soul-drenched vocals to the classic Alexandra Palace Theatre to perform from her upcoming Blue Note album, her most personal work yet. Entitled The Women Who Raised Me, it is her loving tribute to the great female singers who inspired her to become one of the premier jazz/soul vocalists of our time, a journey that has taken in a tour with Gregory Porter and a string of sold out concerts in the EFG London Jazz Festival. As Prince once said, ‘Kandace Springs has a voice that could melt snow’.
The album will feature her interpretations of songs that she first heard growing up in Tennessee, ranging from Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Carmen McRae, through 60’s legends Nina Simone and Dusty Springfield, to modern greats like Sade and Lauryn Hill.
