Kobe Bryant and his 13 year old daughter has died in Calabasas, Los Angeles, the retired basketball player and his 13 girl were in a helicopter crash just North of California at 10am local time. Four other people were believed to be in the crash originally buy the number has gone up to 7 died. The 3rd leading scorer in NBA history retired in 2015, he won two olympic gold medals with Team USA, five NBA titles and was ranked alongside great players like LeBron and Jordan. He also founded a multi-million dollar company. He was widely sought after by brands like Coca Cola and Nike and was seen as someone who transcended his sport, his short film won an Oscar in 2018 for a letter he had written “Be A Basketball” an animated love letter to basketball. Bryant leaves three children the youngest born just last summer and his wife Vanessa. Many celebrities have paid tribute to the “greatest basketball player” of our time. He was the basketball player everyone wanted to be seen with with fans like David Beckham, Jack Nicholson, Beyonce.
Not just the world of basketball paid tribute, Usain Bolt said on twitter “I still can’t believe this” and John Legend said “life can be so brutal sometimes hold on to your loved ones”. Donald Trump tweeted “this is terrible news”.
There was talk of him to be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2020. RIP in peace #Bryant,
