SheCAN: Roundhouse presents Songlines winner Fatoumata Diawara – Win 2 Free Tickets for 30th January 2020

Alt has teamed up with the Roundhouse to offer two free tickets as part of our SheCAN initiative- to see the award winning artist Fatoumata on 30th January in action.

Hailed as one of the most vital standard-bearers of modern African music, Fatoumata Diawara performs as part of In the Round. The Malian artist has been praised for her distinctive, melodic voice and ability to harmonise Pan-African folk and traditional instrumentals with soul, R&B and funk. With two albums to date, Fatoumata has worked with some of the biggest names in contemporary music including, Bobby Womack, Paul McCartney and Herbie Hancock

Celebrating its fifth year, the Roundhouse presents In the Round, which runs 24 January – 1 February 2020 the line up is an eclectic mix of artists in a rare, intimate setting featuring John Grant, Alice Russell, Anaïs Mitchell, Badly Drawn Boy, Beverley Knight, Fatoumata Diawara, Jorge Drexler and #KOKOROKO.

Since its inception in 2016, In the Round has become known for its bold and adventurous
programming. An eclectic mix of genre-spanning artists present a series of special shows that  include unique one-offs, exclusive premieres, solo sets and storytelling, making it a key fixture of  the musical calendar and an exciting start to the year.

As part of the Roundhouse’s commitment to developing emerging talent, young artists who use the Paul Hamlyn Roundhouse Studios will perform as support acts for each headline artist.
