Near & Far is the award-winning bar concept from the boutique Bar 6 Group. Launching on January 4th 2020, Near & Far will unveil London’s largest non-alcoholic offering across its sites in Peckham and Camden. The extensive selection will include hangover-free mocktails aptly named the ‘Designated Driver’ and ‘The Virgin Margy’ alongside a vast selection of non-alcoholic beers, wines, non-alcoholic spirits and sparkling wine. Beyond the drinks, both Near & Far Camden and Near & Far Peckham are launching dry bottomless brunch options with gluten-free, vegan and veggie options to cater for London’s growing appetite of health and environmental eating.
The team are using Dry January to launch the menu but with consumer trends pointing towards less alcoholic drinks, Near & Far aim to give drinkers its largest non-alcoholic offering possible throughout the year to cater for everyone’s needs.
Sarah Holgate, Creative Director of Bar 6 Group says “We’ve always wanted to offer a huge non-alcoholic menu to allow customers of all types to enjoy our bar spaces and we think we’ve hopefully nailed it. From beer to wine, sparkling wine to mocktails, we’ve finally landed on a formula we are happy to share with everyone. Alongside pairing it with a dry bottomless brunch we hope to allow drinkers of all types to enjoy our quirky spaces at both ends of London.”
Some of the original 0% cocktails on offer at both sites include the ‘Virgin Margy’, mixed with 0% gin, agave syrup and citrus served with a salted rim. The ‘Designated Driver’ is mixed with Feragaia, strawberry purée, citrus, egg white & ginger syrup with nutmeg topping it off. While ‘Jammin’ contains blackberry, apple juice, citrus, and ginger beer. During weekends the headache-free menu will be added to its bottomless brunch options which will differ over both sites. In North London, Near & Far Camden will be hosting their regular 100% gluten-free brunch (with loads of vegan, veggie & meat options). While south of the river, Near & Far Peckham are offering a 100% vegan & veggie bottomless brunch every weekend.
With the brunch menus varying at each site, a sample can be read below:
– Sweetcorn fritter, spicy house baked beans, charred broccoli and halloumi
– Sweet potato and quinoa burger, mojo picon, spinach, agave glazed bagel (vg)
– Banana protein pancakes with tequila white chocolate sauce, raspberries or apple kiwi compote
