Past Disquiet’ is a documentary and archival project centred on research conducted on and around the story of the International Art Exhibition for Palestine, which opened in the spring of 1978 at the Beirut Arab University. The Jameel is delighted to host a day of events closing out this acclaimed 5-year exhibition and book project.
Saturday, January 19 includes a seminar led by writer, researcher and co-curator Kristine Khouri, exploring the challenges and complexities of working with historical and archival materials within an exhibition format.
The seminar is followed by a public talk (free; all welcome) by Khouri with curator Nada Raza, discussing broader questions around histories of transnational solidarity in the arts and their contemporary resonances.
