WHAT TO EXPECT: A day of African culture, featuring live entertainment, authentic cuisine and traditional fashion and craft. Returning to Camden Market for its 2nd appearance, the African Market, curated by Open The Gate, showcases the work of talented designers from and inspired by African cultures. Sample authentic dishes from one of the pop up African street foodstalls, whilst discovering original, ethical fashion pieces, handcrafted gifts and natural beauty products from one of the 16 independent businesses taking part. Visitors will be treated to live and interactive performances from an African dance troupe and the chance to participate in a live musical drumming circle. For little ones, face painting offering designs ranging from traditional African patterns to safari animals, whilst for the grown ups – Camden Market’s South African restaurant, Shaka Zulu will be serving their bespoke African cocktails such as the Safari Martini and offering family lunchtime offers for the day.DATE: Saturday 4th August & 1st September TIME: 10am – 7pm WHERE: Camden Lock Place, Camden Market, NW1 8AF
