Sit back for a night of amazing dance and astounding choreography. Ballet Black are to return to Theatre Royal Stratford East with another triple bill, as part of their new partnership with the company since 2016.
Artistic Director Cassa Pancho’s new project blends the classical and contemporary, narrative and abstract, for her ballet company comprising British and international dancers of black and Asian descent.
A four-hander characterised by intricate detail and propulsive energy, Captured ebbs and flows to the fiery emotion of Martin Lawrance’s edgy choreography, set to a Shostakovich string quartet. French choreographer, Ludovic Ondiviela, will present Dopamine, a beautiful pas de deux about love, lust and passion with an original score created by acclaimed British composer, Fabio D’Andrea. In the end, South Bank Sky Arts Award-winner Annabelle Lopez Ochoa will turn the popular fairy tale Red Riding Hood with a surprising twist.
