Southbank Centre: Zadie Smith reads from New Novel Swing Time

Date: 6th July  Where: Royal  Festival Hall

Hear Smith read from new novel, Swing Time, and talk about her career and talk about how her writing is inspired by dance. The multi award-winner (from novel White Teeth, to the Orange Prize for Fiction winner On Beauty and the Baileys Prize for Fiction shortlisted NW),  writing captures the city metropolis of diverse characters that weave in and out of her literature. #zadieSmith

Swing Time follows the friendship of two brown girls who both dream of being dancers. Their lives taking different directions, one becomes a member of the chorus line, the other PA to a famous singer whose grand philanthropic aspirations see the story move from London to West Africa. Zadie Smith is an important writer of the time, cleverly using word to bring to live the diverse and colourful world that we live in.
