New East London hangout Mangle is being blessed this month with a live performance by African dance music supergroup Afriquoi. A smorgasbord of sound that brings together Congolese guitar and Gambian kora with a blend of UK electronic and Mandinka percussion styles. The dance music project is headed by five musicians spanning three generations and continents.
Sitting on a king’s ransom of experience, the fusion group has gained a cult global fanbase; performing on major stages at Glastonbury, Dimensions, Fusion, Boomtown, Shambala, Bestival, Secret Garden Party and the London 2012 Olympics.
