Things to enjoy in Saint Lucia
The fastest woman in the world, 2024 Olympic Gold and Silver Medallist Julien Alfred, calls the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia home.
Saint Lucia is the only country named after a woman and Julien’s record-breaking win is a major source of pride for Saint Lucia.

As well as more formal training facilities, Julien also trained in the spectacular nature of Saint Lucia including the powdery sand of Vigie Beach, just five minutes from Castries. The beach is fringed with palm trees, calm blue waters and is a local favourite. And Julien has enjoyed the healing properties of the soothing mud baths and natural hot waters at the Sulphur Springs in Soufriere.

Saint Lucia is world-famous for its active outdoor activities.

Mr. Cuthbert “Twatinay” Modeste, a Saint Lucian track and field coach, trained Julien Alfred from age 11. He said, “We’re so proud of Julien Alfred being the fastest woman in the world and we can’t wait to share our excitement and embrace anyone who is inspired to visit us because of Julien.
