Cozmo, the online design-led, modular sofa brand returns to London Design Festival with the launch of its first showroom at Tom Dixon’s Coal Office in Coal Drops Yard, Central London. Featured as part of HYPERMOBILE, which celebrates shared values of imagination, reinvention and design for life in motion, the showroom will be open from Saturday 16 September.
The Cozmo showroom at the beautifully restored former Victorian trade building, serves as a showcase for the brand’s mission to counter the “fast furniture” trend by bringing accessible, enduring, and customisable design to the forefront of modern living. The immersive display incorporating large scale plant arrangements from the Botanical Boys will enable visitors to delve into Comzo’s design ethos to create pieces that adapt, evolve, and endure with the ever changing needs and preferences of today’s customers.
Central to this display is the original Cozmo Sofa, designed by the award-winning UK design studio, Raw Edges which will be shown alongside two new additions by the designers: The Cozmo Cosy Armchair, exemplifying the brand’s dedication to compact yet comfortable living and The Cozmo Cutout Tables, a sculptural set of three steel nesting tables that redefines functionality and aesthetics. Known for their inventive, surprising forms, Raw Edges imbues Cozmo with their forward-thinking vision and brings a collectible, sculptural element to the brand.
The Cozmo sofa, is meticulously crafted to evolve in sync with families and spaces over time, while its revolutionary interchangeable sofa jacket system introduces an effortless means to revitalise living spaces through endless customisation and self-expression. The sofa’s thoughtful design prioritises quality and comfort while maintaining a space-efficient footprint tailored for urban living.
As a new addition to the collection, The Cozmo Cosy Armchair uses the same design language and compact footprint as the original Cozmo Sofa. Available in a range of high quality textiles, the armchair features contrasting cotton webbing, wooden legs, as well as incorporates feather softness.
The Cozmo Cutout nesting tables effortlessly adapt to various configurations, transitioning from a space-saving side table when nested to a centerpiece coffee table. Inspired by the iconic papercut art of Matisse, the Cozmo Cutout champions accessibility without compromising on design sophistication.
Jacob Peres, Co-Founder of Cozmo, said:“Cozmo’s ethos is rooted in reshaping the furniture landscape. Our approach combines exceptional design with customizable solutions that reflect the rhythm of modern life. While most design innovations happen in the premium and luxury furniture sectors, our collaboration with Raw Edges, a design studio renowned for their visionary work, has allowed us to bring innovation and design quality to a wider audience. On the production side, by creating a highly efficient modular system that can be produced in batches, we are able to deliver high-quality materials and production directly to our consumers.”
Shay Alkalay and Yael Mer, Co-Founders of Raw Edges, said:“Our journey with Cozmo started with “sofa jackets,” initially conceived to prevent waste while offering customisability. We were all pleasantly surprised by how well the Cozmo concept has resonated with customers, inspiring them to easily and responsibly reinvent their living spaces.
We are excited to build on this momentum by introducing two new additions to the Cozmo family – the compact Cozmo Cosy Armchair and the sculptural Cozmo Cutout Tables, which merge art and function. We hope to continue inspiring people through imaginative, quality pieces that stand the test of time.”
The Cozmo showroom will be open during London Design Festival on Saturday 16 September with special opening hours during the week until Sunday 24 September. Opening hours will be from 10am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 12pm to 5pm Sunday. The showroom will remain open, thereafter, by appointment only.
