About BCA
Inspired by Pan-African civil rights leader Queen Mother Moore, our founders established Black Cultural Archives in 1981 with a mission to create Britain’s first museum dedicated to representing the culture on history of Black people in Britain. Today we are a national institution dedicated to collecting, preserving and marking the histories of Black people in Britain and their place in British history. Our collection of original archive materials constitutes a permanent record, and our ambition is to embed this presence into the broader British narrative and increase understanding of our diverse heritage.
Purpose of the Role
The Marketing Manager is responsible for the day to day PR, communications and social media of Black Cultural Archives, for developing and protecting BCA’s brand, identity and recognition, and spearheading the drive to raise BCA’s profile locally, nationally and internationally. Additionally the role is responsible for the management of the Social Media Officer.
This role contributes to how BCA delivers its mission; ensuring that the day to day work of BCA is shared with our audiences, our active voice is amplified and we continue to engage and teach on Black British History.
As the Marketing Manager you will be responsible for creating, executing, and evaluating integrated marketing communications plans, in support of the BCA’s strategic objectives, making sure that activity is delivered on time, on budget and on target.
You will work with consultants, stakeholders, partners and the wider team to develop a communications strategy.
You will work with senior management to ensure that each campaign, activity and channel is evaluated, and learnings shared with relevant team members.
You will also be responsible for budget management, including planning and monitoring expenditure against budget including yearly forecasting.
