African theatre company Utopia is still running Creative Hub offering free online workshops and masterclasses to people of African origin aged 16 and above. part of the content is being live streamed until the end of the year. More than 40 African theatre professionals are offering free online workshops and masterclasses: including Angelina Abel, Dr. Oladipo Agboluaje, Debo Oluwatuminu, Jennifer Farmer, Emma Williams, Olusola Oyeleye and more. Events include performances on Zoom, Facebook Live and Instagram, with an opportunity for selected writers and actors to perform with Utopia Theatre. Playwriting Workshop 3 – Dr. Oladipo Agboluaje
Masterclass: Shaping Stories Through Character Action Module 2

Dr. Oladipo Agboluaje, the award winning Playwright, Royal Literary Fund Writing Fellow returns with his third session. In this workshop, early stage-writers will learn how to define their characters by their actions and how to shape our stories through the characters’ goals and how they set out to achieve them.

Debo Oluwatuminu is a poet, playwright and Director, who will be running his second workshop for the Creative Hub. The session introduces participants to the basics of writing a play, and gives them rudimentary skills and tools to write a 5-10 minute short play.

Intensive Playwriting (Workshop) – Jennifer Farmer
Jennifer Farmer is an African-American playwright and live art performer. She is an honours graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. The workshop is targeted at writers who are looking to revisit their work, this is an advanced redrafting playwriting workshop.
