2020 marks a 15th-year anniversary milestone for Screen Nation so this year’s awards will be a special celebration. With unprecedented challenges facing the global film, TV and digital media industries, celebrating and rewarding screen talents for their achievements has become more critical than ever before. Despite self-isolation now becoming the new norm the Screen Nation awards team along with the 2020 hosts, nominees and guest presenters ensure both Screen Nation Awards ceremonies will go ahead in an exciting new virtual format. The long standing event is the benchmark for recognising black British screen excellence, the 15th Screen Nation Film & TV Awards ceremony will stream online on YouTube Live and the presentation can also be viewed across Screen Nation social media and partner platforms taking place on Sunday 5th July 2020.

The 6th Digital is Media Awards (DMA) will stream on Sunday 28th June 2020. Hosting this year’s Digital is Media ceremony is Letitia Hector the talented triple-threat star of stage, TV and the 3rd screen. Letitia sings and dances at the drop of a hat so we are set for some hilarious laugh out loud funny, high jinks and high kicks throughout the show!
Hosting for the prestige Film & TV Awards ceremony to be announced but it will be a major global social media influencer. Joining these two exciting young stars in the online presentations will be the top black British film, TV & digital media scene alongside celebrities and influencers from social media, sport, business and more.
The Screen Nation Executive committee has bestowed one of this year’s highest honours the Digital Achievement Award upon creative producer Andy Amadi, founder of Trends Central Youtube channel and creator of the BkChat LDN online debate show (www.bkchat.co.uk). Leon Mayne & Paul Samuel co-founders of the Brothers with no Game brand (BWNG – www.brotherswithnogame.com) are to be honoured with the Victor Adebodun Digital Vanguard Award. Over the last decade, BWNG has been responsible for producing some of the UK’s best black web series and online content.

Former Presenters, nominees and guests of these unique ceremonies have included Game of Thrones actress Nathalie Emmanuel, BAFTA-winning director/actor, Noel Clarke, Golden Globe winner Idris Elba, James Bond star Naomie Harris, Chewing Gum creator & star Michaela Coel, track & field star Christine Ohuruogu and film, TV and digital media talent of the calibre of Jamal Edwards, Kelechi Okafor, Shirley B. Full details of the 2020 categories and nominations to be voted for by both the public and industry juries are to be announced across social media over this weekend of 30-31 May.
