African Odysseys Presents: Windrush Women Testaments: Stories and their Makers

Our partner BFI African Odysseys have curated an afternoon that adds to the current affairs conversation regarding the recent Windrush revelations, the focus on the female gaze. The arrival of the ship Empire Windrush 70 years ago changed the face of British culture. Black women filmmakers were part of that change. In a rare soulful day of intergenerational dialogues, Black women film and TV professionals will share their wisdom and experience to succeeding generations and the audience. Presented by Gaylene Gould, BFI Head of Cinemas. Guests include curator and archivist June Givanni, producer Nadine Marsh Edwards, BAFTA-nominated documentary filmmaker Dionne Walker and short filmmaker Jenn Nkiru. When:  Saturday 23 June 2018 Where: NFT3

Tickets are £6.50. 11:00-17:00  Joint ticket available with Philomela’s Chorus £10.
