A Chinese exhibition which juxtaposed photographs of animals with images of Africans, was closed in China this week. The exhibition which was called This is Africa created outrage from Africans around the globe and those living in China started when Nigerian Instagram user, Edward E Duke posted about the exhibition. The post which has since been removed asked why humans of a particular race were placed next to wild animals.
The museum was forced to removed the exhibit acknowledging that it “might offend our African friends”.
The photographs were taken by Construction magnate Yu Huiping, he has won awards for his work and is vice-chairman of Hubei Photographer. Image credit Yu Huiping.
