ALT A REVIEW – Journalism & Visual Storytelling Internship Fund
This fund supports three- six-month internships for emerging journalists and creators aged 18–30, based in London. These expenses part-paid placements provide: Hands-on training in print and visual journalism, Mentorship with experienced editors and contributors. Access to industry equipment and publishing tools. Our 3-month internship program offers hands-on training in:
- Art review writing, film, theatre, IT and reporting
- Attending press previews, red carpets, and cultural events (travel covered)
- Writing, editing, and publishing in a professional editorial environment
- Mentorship from experienced editors and visual journalists

Two Internship Tracks
Cultural Journalism — Writing, reviewing, and reporting on arts and culture
Visual Journalism — Photography, illustration, and multimedia storytelling for print and digital
Story Starter
- Funds specialist Hybrid training that builds an intern’s writing, research, and storytelling skills.
- Supports mentoring sessions with our editorial team, giving interns direct feedback and guidance.
- Helps them publish their first professional piece for Alt A Review.

- Funds a one-hour in-person skills mentoring at Somerset House in London.
- Covers a full immersive workday in our newsroom, where interns contribute to live arts and culture coverage.
- Gives interns hands-on experience that builds their portfolio and confidence.

Creative Tools Patron
- Provides an intern with a 1TB external drive, software access, and essential creative tools for their work.
- Funds advanced training in arts criticism, visual storytelling, or cultural reporting.
- Enables interns to take on bigger projects and in-depth stories for publication in ALT A REVIEW.
- Covers 30 hr internship over for 1 month
- Operational cost additional hot desk hire

Full Internship Patron
- Sponsors a complete 3-month internship in editorial or visual journalism.
- Covers ongoing mentoring, specialist training, and the creative tools they need to succeed.
- Empowers interns to attend and cover high-profile cultural events, expanding their networks and experience.
