BLacklight Begins Production on Wes Miller’s Action Thriller Mercy Mercy Me Lil Mama, Jason Mitchell, and Carlos Ponce Lead

BLacklight announce that it is in production on Mercy Mercy Me, an action thriller written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Wes Miller (A Day to Die Black Heat).

BLacklight is financing with Andrew van den Houten and Wes Miller producing, Joseph O’Connor and Lloyd Watts co-producing and Jessie Jalee and Chad Ghiron  executive producing. 79th & Broadway Entertainment will be handling the sales for both domestic and international.

The cast includes rapper Lil Mama, Jason Mitchell (Black Heat/Mudbound/Straight Outta’ Compton), and Carlos Ponce (Couples Retreat/Ice Age: Collision Course).

Mercy Mercy Me is a stylish, high-stakes crime thriller set in 1985, where two reformed outlaws, Mercy (Lil Mama) and Khaos  (Jason Mitchell), are pulled back into the life they left behind. They’re forced to take on a dangerous job that pits them against mob bosses, a crooked detective (Carlos Ponce), and their own past sins. Fueled by love, rage, and the echo of Marvin Gaye’s iconic anthem, Mercy Mercy Me is a raw, soulful story about family, sacrifice, and what it means to truly fight for redemption.

Mercy Mercy Me is story about grief, guilt, and the struggle to find forgiveness. I wanted to explore how unresolved pain can echo through generations. The cast brought raw, fearless performances that made every moment feel lived-in. Excited to share it with our audience,” says writer/director Wes Miller.
