Monthly Events

Factory Quiz OCT 1, 6-8pm FREE, Drop in   Join us for our regular quiz night but this month the theme is Black History and will be hosted by Michael Appouh 

Cultureville presents Black Creative Trailblazers OCT 3, 6:30pm- 12:00am PAID, Tickets required   Black Creative Trailblazers is a glamorous Black-Tie event where the remarkable work of Black artists, musicians, poets, dancers, designers and more are celebrated.

Factory Remix OCT 3, 6-9pm FREE, Drop in   Come along to an evening of music with Lei Hope and band. Expect a wide range of genres from Indie to R&B to Soul.  Freshly signed to Heist or Hit, Lei Hope is one to watch.

Jenn Nkiru, Film Screening and Q&A OCT 4 8pm FREE, booking required    In this new film, Nkiru weaves together new footage and archive material to explore parallels between architecture and the human body – and how they both shapeshift through time and space.

Poetry Place OCT 8, 6-9pm FREE, Drop in   Poetry Place presents ‘Legacy in Lyrics’ Join us as we celebrate and bring honour to the legacies that have shaped Black history, through the power of spoken word poetry, soulful singing and rap.

Reclaiming Narratives OCT 12, 2-6pm PAID, tickets required   Whether you’re an artist, educator, student, activist, or simply someone with a story to tell, join us in acknowledging our experiences and celebrating our contributions. In this Black History Month 2024, we embrace the theme Reclaiming Narratives with artistry, dialogue, music, and community.

AMC Gospel choir OCT 12, 3-5pm PAID, tickets required   Feel the foot-stomping melodies of AMC Gospel Choir as their voices uplift and inspire. One of the UK’s premier gospel choirs and an exciting group of musicians, AMC Gospel Choir will create soul-stirring soundscapes

There’s Always a Seat at the Table OCT 12, 1:30-3pm  PAID, tickets required   Former Hollyoaks actor Haiesha Mistry joins us for a spoken word performance and conversational session. She will dive into personal experiences on what it means to survive as a freelance artist, and if there really is a seat at the table for her?

Sip & Paint OCT 16, 6-9pm FREE, booking required   Whether you’re an established creative or just want to try something new, come and embrace your inner artist at this popular painting evening – created by Cultureville and Sip and Paint McR. October’s theme is Black Joy.

Sounds of the Diaspora OCT 19  6–11pm   FREE, booking required   Plug One presents Sounds of Diaspora, featuring some of Manchester’s most dynamic Black voices in the music industry. Performance by Atike, Emma Marsh and Renee Stormz. A panel discussion on the reality of the music business with SHEwillprovide and LASHIMBA – hosted by Baz. Stick around afterwards for performances and DJ sets.
